France has traditionally been known for its culture and life-style. Education in France has not generated much excitement among the foreign education seekers primarily due to the fact that the language of instruction in most of the programmes available in the country is French. However, off late several institutions are offering courses in English medium to accord an international flavour to its education.
The Audencia School of Management, Nantes is one such institution that is offering an International MBA programme in English medium.
But, according to the admissions manager, Audenica Nantes, Sylvie Chancelier, there are several more reasons for an Indian student to choose Audenica for higher education. She said: "More and more Indian students are now looking beyond United Kingdom and choosing mainland Europe to seek an international qualification. At Audenica, you are not merely getting an exposure to French culture but a tailor-made programme which is accredited by international bodies like European Quality Improvement System, awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development and is a member of the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business."
The one-year intensive programme not merely includes the basics of any good MBA course such as strategy; marketing; finance; law and human resource management but in addition, a flexibility to choose their own four electives from a choice of 20 and can even club certain courses. "Students even have the freedom to develop their expertise around a particular area such as International Strategic Management; Change Management and Consulting, Entrepreneurship and Information Technology Management. They can even seek assistance of career advisors and programme director to choose your electives," she added.
A four-month internship or consulting work for a company is an ingrained part of the programme, apart from a regular dose of case-studies, business simulation games, leadership seminars and stress management workshops. "The internship is an opportunity to apply the class-room theories in real world. Students have to write a thesis and appear for a viva on it," Chancelier said. A unique `Life-long service'' which enables a students to carry his or her learning for three years and constantly upgrade oneslf, post MBA, is another highlight of the programme.
Fully accredited by the French government, Audencia claims an intellectual history, international faculty, well-equipped library and students'' assistance in terms of accommodation, scholarships and placement services as some of its key features. "An international programme of this kind leads to open mindedness. Individual coaching is important but students should be able to bring their own initiative as well to gain the maximum out of this programme," she exclaimed.
To seek admission in the International MBA programme an aspirant needs a minimum of bachelor''s degree, GMAT and TOEFL scores, letter of motivation and a minimum of three-year work experience. The intake of the programme is in October.
